Question: Is there ever a need for censorship?
Theme: Susan Juby doesn't think that childrens books should be sensored, she's being sarcastic throughout the entire article.
Argument:
In my opinion, there is a great need for censorship within society, who knows what could be exposed to whom. Especially to young children, who can access magazines, Internet and other sources of technology so easily. Today's generation is a very technology oriented so its no surprised that young teens, adults and even young kids can be exposed to the wrong sources of information. And yet not only within technology are people, kids included, being exposed to unnessicary information. Susan Juby, an author of childrens books, as well as a mother has brought attention to the fact that kids books today include "inappropriate language and provacative situations as well as the promotion of alternative lifestyles"(Susan Juby). Not only that but, nine times out of ten do you ever see anything the least bit happy on the News? No, its always information about murders, rapes, and kids getting abducted. How happy is that!?
The idea of censorship can be useful and yet dangerous, if you hide information from the world for too long, you can have a rebellion on your shoulders, yet if you give them the raw and potent honest truth, it can come back and bite you in the arse. Yet at the same time, it can be turned around to show irony and humor. Just like Susan Juby.

Optical Illusions
As you grow from a child to an adult you learn various things throughout your growth, whether it be manners or language, thoughts, idea's religion- its all built on for you, its never really concerning your own intellectual thoughts. So does that make us sponges rather then individuals. If your learning what others want you to learn because its the way you're raised then really whats considered real anymore. There are people out there that have so many different veiws on things that it adds diversity to the universe, to our world. And at what point are they real.
Reality as we see it, is a never ending cycle constantly keeping you guessing. What colors are you really seeing? Is that building really that shape, or is the grass really that tall. Anything can change ones perspective on life and its objects. Take a pair of glasses, or even sunglasses for example. There are hundreds to thousands of people in the world that wear glasses/sunglasses. Its simply just a lense that alters what you see. Sure the sky may look a little darker, and the sun wont glare so much in your line of site, but how many other people are seeing things the way your seeing things? Plenty! Yet its never really the same.
Beau Lotto's Optical Illusion set the tone for a very intellectual argument, yet its suggesting that not everything is what it seems. You can look at the clouds and see a floating bunny, yet if you ask a friend, do they see that same floating bunny? Or do they see a dragon of some sorts? To be strictly honest, what are people seeing?! I don't see what Kelsey see's and she doesn't see what Colten see's. Things are different for just about everyone!!

Dreams take us on Journeys
Mayson stretches, his hands grasping the cool metal of his bed frame. With a sleepy sigh he pulls himself from the groove of his bed, pushing the covers away with little effort. The room was dimly lit, no electricity. Just the steady glowing pulse of the early morning sun cascading through the rift in the shades, with a throaty groan his legs stretch out and his feet find the cold floor. It doesn’t take Mayson long to get into the daily routine he had crafted for himself months before, it consisted of simple tasks taking him about ten minuets or so each. Leaving just enough time for his sessions; as a prospecting informative to the ranking elite that Mayson belonged to, he needed to log a certain amount of hours into the dream book, even if at times it was utterly brain depriving. For years though Mayson had been slipping through the rip tides of others dreams, altering certain information and creating current plots, at times it could be entertaining and others just down right depressing. Today was going to be different, today he would work his magic into the mind of a pretty little red head named Claire. She held an elegance about her that left Mayson dumbfounded and a little bit lightheaded. For months her mind had been left in turmoil, haunted. Leaving repulsive scars that left her imagination looking ugly. It was then, and only then that Mayson felt it was his duty to alter her dreams, change the shape of her imagination and leave a permanent smile on that pretty face.
After grabbing a quick bite to eat and folding the linens, Mayson snatched up the thick leather bound book and his quill, tucking it neatly beneath the curve of his arm as he reached for the doorknob. Engulfing the natural beauty of his homelands with a smile, he started down the path, his steps more buoyant then they had been days before. The temple was not far from his hut, making his walk quick and fairly simple. It was much too early for the rest of his fellow students to be up and about, Mayson was known as the early bird around here, but it was a title he took with respect and a good hearted laugh. There was so much to get done, and wasting the day lazing in bed was no way to get things done.
Stepping into the temple with an easy going grin he headed for his booth, stripping the wires that hung loosely on the wall. He stationed himself nearest the window and logged in. The current flowing quickly through his veins as the hairs on his arms became erect, and with a soft sigh he slips into the unearthly comatose, when entering dreamland, you entered your very own utopia. And Mayson’s job was to make things run smoothly. It was like a never ending treasure hunt, an unforgettable journey that leads you through the depths of the ocean and the heights of the mountains. Mayson could honestly say that this was perhaps the best job that any young human could endure. But today he was on a mission; the firm set of lines that crossed his furrowed brow could define just that. Feverishly his eyes danced beneath the closed eyelids, searching quickly for the petite red head he knew as Claire. It took Mayson a few minuets before he caught a glimpse of her resting beneath the arch of an old withered looking tree, a book firmly in her grasp and in the other; what looked to be a knife. She would occasionally look up from the pages of her book to survey the area around her, as if a possible threat could be inches away. That was the thing with Claire, she always seemed to be afraid, pointing out the creatures that she said followed her, but when Mayson turned to look, there was absolutely nothing. Could it be that his pretty little Claire was a little crazy in the cranium?

Rant
Everyone has a best friend, wether they have two or three it doesn't really matter. But everyone has someone they're close to, it can be a male or female, cat or dog, it could talk to remain silent, either way, your always going to have someone. But isn't it frusterating when your a girl and your best friend is a boy, and this said best friend gets a girlfriend. And all of a sudden your the enemy. The alien on the outskirts if you will, you no longer hear from that best friend let alone see him/her. And slowly your relationship is slipping through your fingers and there is very little you can do about it. But just when things are starting to look up, and civil conversations continue- secrets are shared and kept once more and all is good. That new girlfriend rips the rug right out from under your feet and your flat on you behind, wondering, what the hell! Turns out the girlfriend is threatened by the friendship you hold with that best friend of yours, with her boyfriend. And it seems like he has no back-bone to stand up for you, his bestfriend and himself, or he's just chosing to drop you from the picture all together, loose the best friend, and get the girl. Seems like girls these days are just as insecure as ever, heaven forbid you have a best friend, let alone a best friend of the opposite sex.

Creative Writing
Create a random piece of creative writing. writing prompt: Alice tried to remember who had given her the key.
Alice tried to remember who had given her the key as it lay flat in the palm of her hand. She had been sitting on her bed for the last hour carefully analysing the details of the now warm key- its grooves and ridges, its shape and color. She hadn't a clue if it opened any of the doors in the cellar and she certainly had no idea as to why she had come in contact with it, either way this tiny object had her brain working overtime. With a disappointed sigh Alice pulled herself up from the cushions of her bed and started forward in the direction of the hall way, she could always ask Josh but then that would open up the doors for constant humiliation, so she continued past his room and headed down the stairs, all the while her hand clutched around the small object.
She could ask her mother but then that would lead to questioning- she knew her best bet was her father so she remained silent as she slipped past the kitchen as to not disturb her mothers cooking. With a crafty little grin her feet squish into the soft carpet as she enters the living room, her eyes shifting towards the big brown couch as her dad looks up from his book. "yes, Alice?" he asks softly his eyes finding hers as Alice positions herself in the chair next to her fathers. Opening her hand to reveal the small steel key she turns it over in the palm of her hands, its texture smooth and warm as it has been clutched in her hand for some time now. "Can you tell me what this key opens, and did you give it to me?" Alice's voice holds a questioning tone as her eyes hold his gaze for a few seconds longer, before dropping once again to the key in her hand. She watches as her father leans forward to take the key from her hand, observing it behind the thick sheild of glass that stations itself intellegently upon his face.
She sees the focus in his eyes as he studies the key just as Alice had done previously in her bedroom, he clears his throat and looks towards her with a small smile. Alice is curious but she is also confused, inching forward in the small chair she shuffles her weight back and forth.

Top Three.
Today's blog challenge is to choose the top 3 (of anything) and justify your choice. You may choose the top three hockey players of all time, the greatest musicians, the top three reasons to do something...the possibilities are endless. Here is a suggested sequence of events for the blog:
1. Choose your topic
2. Choose the criteria you are using to make your choices, and explain it to the reader. For example, if you are ranking the top three hockey players, how are you choosing to judge them? Points scored? Plus/minus rating? Years in the league? Stanley Cups won?
3. Type your blog out by first explaining the topic you have chosen, and the criteria for your choices. Then state each of your top three choices, and dedicate approximately a paragraph to each one that justifies why it deserves the ranking you gave it. As always, formal language and proper spelling and grammar applies.
Top Three Equestrian Activities
Criteria
- Popularity
- Disciplinary
- Earnings
1) Reining: A western riding copetition for horses where the rider guides the horse through a precise pattern of circles, spins and stops (generally sliding stops). All movements are done at a lope, and a gallop (flat out run) the fastest of the horses gaits. Reining is often described as a western form of dressage riding (ballet on horseback) it requires the horse to be responsive and in turn with its rider, their aids should not be easily seen, and judges the horses on the horses ability to preform a set of pattern movements. The horse should be willingly guided or controlled with little or no apparent resistance and dictated to completely. A horse that pins his ears, conveying a threat to his rider, refuses to go forward, runs sideways, bounces his rear, wrings his tail in irritation or displays an overall poor attitude is not being guided willingly, and is judged accordingly. This is a popular competition among the Alberta region and is widely known in the Vancouver district, most say the horse world is incredibly small, but they are wrong. Reining is like a language you have to be able to speak the language fluently in order to understand it.
Alot of money goes into these competitions and thousands of dollars can be won, or lost.
2) Western Pleasure:A western style competition at horse shows that evaluates the horse on manners and suitability of the horse for a relaxed but collected gait cadence and relatively slow in speed, unlike Reining. The horse must be calm and responsive and the rider must show little cues. The horse has to appear to be a pleasure to ride and very comfortable as well as smooth, so if your bouncing around all over the place and your horse is all over the ring your not going to place very well. The horses conformation and temperament play a role in this event, and hence animals that are calm, quiet, have collected, soft gaits and the strong muscling required to sustain slow, controlled movements are the most competitive. This is a popular event among more so women then men and money can be earned within it.
3) Show Jumping: requires a lot of discipline, patience and an attempt to mask your curse words. You spend a good five years preparing your mout for this type of physical/mental fit. Its a competition that is tested under various conditions over courses of obstacles. Each riding test is intended to demonstrate the horses energy, training, obedience and freedom. Most stadium jumping costs the big $ and therefor you seem to be putting money in, but not really recieving any.
In result the top preformance would fall to Reining, although it costs just as much, it is must easier to win money, but as my dad says, owning horses is a never ending money pit. Doesn't matter how much you put in, your never going to top that amount coming out.

Super Power
If you could have any superpower in the world, what would it be, and why? Justify why you have chosen your particular gift, and rejected all others. OR You may choose to match any two superheroes together (Superman vs. Spiderman) and justify who would win in a battle. Remember to give EVIDENCE to support your opinion.
Super powers can be a tricky thing, if you don't choose the right one you can end up being incapable of protecting yourself, but sometimes even if you choose the right one it can have its downfalls. If I had to choose any super power in the world, I'd have to settle for cloning, both of myself and others. I'd choose Cloning over something as useful as mind control because I could get things done quicker if their were more of me, chores would never be an issue; and if I didn't feel like going to school I could always send my clone.
People always wish they could be in two places at once, if you had the ability to clone yourself and others you'd never have to worry about not being able to make an appointment and go to your sisters birthday party, all at the same time. So If I had to choose just one super power, it would definatly be cloning.
