Today's blog challenge is to choose the top 3 (of anything) and justify your choice. You may choose the top three hockey players of all time, the greatest musicians, the top three reasons to do something...the possibilities are endless. Here is a suggested sequence of events for the blog:
1. Choose your topic
2. Choose the criteria you are using to make your choices, and explain it to the reader. For example, if you are ranking the top three hockey players, how are you choosing to judge them? Points scored? Plus/minus rating? Years in the league? Stanley Cups won?
3. Type your blog out by first explaining the topic you have chosen, and the criteria for your choices. Then state each of your top three choices, and dedicate approximately a paragraph to each one that justifies why it deserves the ranking you gave it. As always, formal language and proper spelling and grammar applies.

1) Reining: A western riding copetition for horses where the rider guides the horse through a precise pattern of circles, spins and stops (generally sliding stops). All movements are done at a lope, and a gallop (flat out run) the fastest of the horses gaits. Reining is often described as a western form of dressage riding (ballet on horseback) it requires the horse to be responsive and in turn with its rider, their aids should not be easily seen, and judges the horses on the horses ability to preform a set of pattern movements. The horse should be willingly guided or controlled with little or no apparent resistance and dictated to completely. A horse that pins his ears, conveying a threat to his rider, refuses to go forward, runs sideways, bounces his rear, wrings his tail in irritation or displays an overall poor attitude is not being guided willingly, and is judged accordingly. This is a popular competition among the Alberta region and is widely known in the Vancouver district, most say the horse world is incredibly small, but they are wrong. Reining is like a language you have to be able to speak the language fluently in order to understand it.
Alot of money goes into these competitions and thousands of dollars can be won, or lost.
2) Western Pleasure:A western style competition at horse shows that evaluates the horse on manners and suitability of the horse for a relaxed but collected gait cadence and relatively slow in speed, unlike Reining. The horse must be calm and responsive and the rider must show little cues. The horse has to appear to be a pleasure to ride and very comfortable as well as smooth, so if your bouncing around all over the place and your horse is all over the ring your not going to place very well. The horses conformation and temperament play a role in this event, and hence animals that are calm, quiet, have collected, soft gaits and the strong muscling required to sustain slow, controlled movements are the most competitive. This is a popular event among more so women then men and money can be earned within it.
3) Show Jumping: requires a lot of discipline, patience and an attempt to mask your curse words. You spend a good five years preparing your mout for this type of physical/mental fit. Its a competition that is tested under various conditions over courses of obstacles. Each riding test is intended to demonstrate the horses energy, training, obedience and freedom. Most stadium jumping costs the big $ and therefor you seem to be putting money in, but not really recieving any.
In result the top preformance would fall to Reining, although it costs just as much, it is must easier to win money, but as my dad says, owning horses is a never ending money pit. Doesn't matter how much you put in, your never going to top that amount coming out.

Super Power
If you could have any superpower in the world, what would it be, and why? Justify why you have chosen your particular gift, and rejected all others. OR You may choose to match any two superheroes together (Superman vs. Spiderman) and justify who would win in a battle. Remember to give EVIDENCE to support your opinion.
Super powers can be a tricky thing, if you don't choose the right one you can end up being incapable of protecting yourself, but sometimes even if you choose the right one it can have its downfalls. If I had to choose any super power in the world, I'd have to settle for cloning, both of myself and others. I'd choose Cloning over something as useful as mind control because I could get things done quicker if their were more of me, chores would never be an issue; and if I didn't feel like going to school I could always send my clone.
People always wish they could be in two places at once, if you had the ability to clone yourself and others you'd never have to worry about not being able to make an appointment and go to your sisters birthday party, all at the same time. So If I had to choose just one super power, it would definatly be cloning.
